Introduction 1.0. Section 1: Text and Transmission 1.1. Hebrew and Greek As will be demonstrated in section 2.3 below, it is most reasonable to assume that 4 Ezra was originally composed in Hebrew. No fragments of the Hebrew text of 4 Ezra have survived, however, and there is no evidence of its use in ancient Jewish literature.
